Jennifer Freyensee, Registered Play Therapist in Rapid City, Counselor
Jennifer Freyensee graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught elementary school for 10 years until she completed her Master of Arts in Education in Community Agency/Mental Health Counseling at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green KY. She then worked as a school guidance counselor in grades K-12 for ten years after which she was accepted into the doctoral program at the University of Wyoming in Counselor Education and Supervision. She completed 49 doctoral hours, a 974 hour doctoral internship in mental health counseling and 274 hours supervising master students and has been a mental health counselor for 7 years.
Jennifer earned accreditation as a Registered Play Therapist, by The Association for Play Therapy in 2003 and as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor by the Association for Play Therapy in 2005. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has been using play therapy in her Black Hills based practice since 2006.
